Zoo visitor’s half-eaten body found in tiger cage with shoe seen in the animal’s mouth

At Sherbagh Zoo in Bahawalpur, India, a man has met a gruesome end after being mauled to death by a tiger.

The cleaning staff at the zoo discovered the man’s partially consumed body, raising questions about how he found himself in such a perilous situation.

It is suspected that the man entered the animals’ enclosure voluntarily, though the specifics of the events leading to the fatal mauling remain unknown.

The grim discovery was made when cleaning staff noticed one of the tigers carrying a shoe in its mouth. The victim’s identity remains unidentified, and no family has come forward to claim the remains.

Consequently, the zoo has been temporarily closed as authorities investigate the incident.

According to an official statement, the tigers did not leave their den to attack the man; instead, he entered their enclosure.

The zoo management is examining security measures and has not ruled out the possibility of hiring private security guards to prevent such incidents in the future.

Emergency services noted that the body appeared to have been in the enclosure for “several hours” before its discovery, and it was later removed in a body bag placed inside an ambulance.

The shocking incident has sent shock waves through the local community, prompting local government officials to confirm the accountability of all zoo staff.

Despite labeling the deceased person as a “lunatic,” officials expressed their commitment to investigating any potential security lapses that may have contributed to the tragic event.

One official, Zaheer Anwar, remarked, “You can see the den is secured. There are stairs behind the den; maybe he jumped from there.”
