On Thursday, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) suspended four members, including former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, former Senate President Pius Anyim, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar, and Aslam Aliyu.

The decision to suspend them, effective immediately, was made following a thorough examination of the party’s affairs, as outlined in the PDP Constitution (amended in 2017).

Additionally, the PDP has referred Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom to the National Disciplinary Committee for alleged anti-party activities. National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba made the announcement in a statement, urging party members to remain united and focused during this critical time.

Fayose has attributed much of Nigeria’s current problems to stakeholders and politicians, claiming that little has changed in the country since 1979. He also criticized the system’s failure to protect itself and advocated for a red line similar to the army’s. The Independent National Electoral Commission, according to Fayose, should not be held accountable for the election’s flaws.
