Osun state governor dismisses claims of half salary payment and worker demotion

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has dismissed allegations that his administration is planning to demote workers and pay them half of their salary every month.

The statement, signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, declared that the current administration in the state has no plans to demote workers or introduce half salaries.

It went on to state that the said story and all the references to a supposed worker are mere fabrications to undermine the bond between Governor Adeleke and Osun workers, both in the formal and informal sectors.

The governor’s administration has been praised for its commitment to workers’ welfare, with labour leaders commending his extraordinary efforts in this regard during the May 1st workers’ day celebration.

The administration has also been lauded for clearing the mess and evil fallouts of years of maladministration by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state, including the adoption of a template to clear years of half salary and pensions owed to Osun workers.

As of the time of filing this report, the Osun APC spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, had not responded to the allegations.
