Founder and Head of Administration of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, Olumba-Olumba Obu, has criticised same-sex marriage as going against God’s command.
The religious leader made the comment during a session with the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Cross River, where he commended individuals and groups that advocate for human freedoms. However, Olumba-Olumba warned that the promotion of certain freedoms, particularly the choice to marry any gender, runs contrary to divine laws.

The cleric went on to say that many of the freedoms being promoted today are rooted in falsehood and lack any truth in them. According to him, same-sex marriage needs to be checked to prevent further perversion of communities and countries.
He commended journalists in Nigeria for being the conscience of society and urged them to continue to protect public interest. Olumba-Olumba said that the world needs more journalists of conscience who speak truth to power.
