Ruud Gullit, a former Dutch footballer, has suggested that if Manchester City wins the Champions League, Erling Haaland may win the Ballon d’Or award.
However, Haaland would face stiff competition from players such as Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe. According to Gullit, if Pep Guardiola guides City to their first European title, the chances of the Norway striker winning the award will be increased.

He also stated that there is no player like Haaland in terms of style of play and how he scores goals, describing him as a “freak of nature.” Gullit made these comments ahead of the prestigious Laureus awards in Paris this week.
The votes for the 2023 Ballon d’Or prize will take place after the upcoming Champions League final in Turkey next month. The Ballon d’Or is awarded to the best male footballer in the world each year.
