Suspected Ogun ritualist claims he only bought human legs for N20,000

Suspected ritualist, Ifasoji Ayangbesan, who was recently arrested for alleged involvement in the murder of Oyindamola Adeyemi, a 26-year-old woman, has confessed to only buying her legs for N20,000.

The 35-year-old had been on the run since January when his other accomplices were arrested for killing the victim and selling her body parts to money ritualists. Ayangbesan denied participating in the killing and said he was not a money ritualist but a herbalist.

He said he bought the legs from his friend, Lukman, who told him he had exhumed them from a cemetery. Ayangbesan explained that he agreed to use the legs for a ritual to better his life after being convinced by his friend. He said he burnt the legs and kept them with plans to complete the ritual when he returned from Ajah.

However, while he was away, his daughter called to inform him that policemen came to search for him, so he sneaked in to take the burnt legs away to avoid being caught with any evidence.

When asked if he truly offered N1 million to bribe the police, Ayangbesan denied the claim, saying a lawyer had told him to provide N10 million to secure his release but he was only able to gather N1 million, which he was taking to the lawyer when he was arrested.
