The 35-year-old suspect was arrested on Friday, April 28, in his hideout in the Ijebu-Ode area of the state. Ayangbesan allegedly offered the police a bribe of N1 million to escape.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the arrest of the suspect to journalists in Abeokuta on Sunday. Oyeyemi explained that the suspect and his gang killed their victim, Oyindamola Adeyemi, for a money ritual. The victim was killed in January in the Ijebu-Ode area of the state, and her body was dismembered.

However, detectives from Obalende divisional headquarters were detailed to trail him, recover the deceased’s two legs from him, and prosecute him with his colleagues in crime.

Upon interrogation, Ayangbesan confessed to being part of the syndicate that killed Oyindamola Adeyemi and that he was the person who severed the two legs of the deceased, which he claimed he used for ritual purposes.
