Ogun State Police Command has arrested four suspected armed robbers who were allegedly involved in an operation a month ago in the state. The suspects, Sherrif Kamoru (28), Rabiu Seyidu (37), Opeyemi Adebayo (26), and Ajibola Fakolade (21), were members of a robbery syndicate operating in Sango-Ota and its environs.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspects were arrested after a report was lodged at Sango divisional headquarters on March 20, 2023, by one Adeleye Sunday. Sunday reported that he was attacked by armed hoodlums who dispossessed him of his phones and withdrew N600,000 from his account through the bank’s app on the phone. The police detectives, acting on credible intelligence, located the suspects’ hideout and arrested them.

One cutlass, a Techno POP 2f belonging to the victim, and a nose mask used by one of them during the operation were recovered from the suspects. The Commissioner of Police has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation Department for investigation and prosecution.
