Two Catholic priests, Rev Fr Chochos Kunav and Rev Raphael Ogigba, were abducted on Saturday night while on their way to Ughelli in Delta State, Nigeria. They were visiting another priest in Agbarho-Otor of the Catholic Diocese of Warri. According to a statement by Rev Fr Kizito Okereke, the priests were kidnapped on their way back. Fr Chochos, who works in Ibadan, was visiting his colleague.
The statement urged prayers for their quick and safe release and called on Jesus the high priest and the good shepherd and the mother thrice admirable Queen and victress of the soul to intercede on their behalf. The kidnappings in Nigeria have been rampant, with several cases of abduction, banditry, and insurgency reported in different parts of the country in recent times.
