Ohanaeze Ime-Obi assures Tinubu of support, declares no force can stop his swearing-in

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ime-Obi has declared that the inauguration of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, on May 29, will proceed, despite objections from a faction of the Ohanaeze.

Ime-Obi, the highest decision-making body of the Ohanaeze, stated that it would offer maximum support to Tinubu’s administration to ensure its success. The organization stressed that it recognizes Tinubu as the President-elect of Nigeria and will participate fully in his inauguration.

The body stated that any statements to the contrary were unauthorized and coming from unpatriotic elements that had been suspended from the Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

The organization has never authorized anyone to speak against the President-elect, and it would support whoever won the presidential election. The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ime-Obi believes that Igbos are progressive-minded and economically oriented and will continue to support any government at the center.

The body further stated that it will not allow individuals who made Ndigbo enemies of Buhari in 2015 to lead them into another situation where Igbos will be portrayed illegitimately as being against or not recognizing the President-elect.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ime-Obi urged Tinubu not to listen to those not speaking on behalf of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and ensure that his government succeeds.
