An application seeking to nullify the ward and local government congresses of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has been adjourned by Justice Ayo Oyebiyi of an Osun State High Court until May 2, 2023.
The adjournment followed the hearing of an application filed by Mr Segun Odekunmi, a member of the party, and seven others against the PDP and its caretaker Chairman in Osun State, Akindele Adekunle, for going ahead with the congress after the court had restrained them.
The ward and local government congresses were held between April 18 and 19, 2023. Counsel for the plaintiffs, Mr Kehinde Adesiyan, had filed an application seeking a reversal of all actions taken by the PDP on the congress while the matter was pending before the court.

However, counsel for the defendants, Mr Hashim Abioye, argued that the court lacked jurisdiction to rule on the matter and urged the court to dismiss the application. Justice Oyebiyi adjourned the matter till May 2 for ruling on the plaintiffs’ application.
