Governor Adeleke advocates for strengthening inter state policing

The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called for stronger inter-state policing to curb cross-border criminal activities. At a security meeting with top police officers in the state, Adeleke praised the performances of the police and other security agencies and called for continuous intelligence sharing among the security commands to stop criminals in their tracks before they launch cross-border raids.

He highlighted that inter-state criminal attacks have become a menace that requires urgent attention.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Inspector General of Police for Zone 11, Mr Akande Sikiru, and the Commissioners of Police from Oyo and Osun states.

AIG Sikiru commended Adeleke’s leadership on governance and security strategies, and assured the Governor that the police service is re-strategizing to sustain the records of peaceful existence in Osun State.

He also thanked the administration for the logistic support provided to the police operations and promised to respond proactively to the security needs of the state.
