Okocha believes he would cost around €150m in today’s transfer market, according to a recent interview. The Nigerian football legend, who played for Eintracht Frankfurt, Fenerbahçe, PSG and Bolton Wanderers, said that his assists and dribbling skills would have commanded such a figure, especially considering the current high value of top football players.
He mentioned Chelsea’s £106m purchase of a Portuguese defensive midfielder and stated that such would be the price of players of his caliber in today’s market.

Okocha made a £1m move to Fenerbahçe from Eintracht Frankfurt in 1996 after Frankfurt was relegated from the top flight of German football. After an impressive two years with the Turkish club, he moved to PSG for a fee of £14m, which was an African transfer record at the time.
Speaking to hurriyet, Okocha expressed his sadness about leaving Fenerbahçe, where he was loved by the fans, and where he married his wife, who was Turkish, and where his children were about to be born.
