Skales reveals how Timaya provided him shelter when he was homeless

John Njeng-Njeng, better known as Skales, has opened up about how his senior colleague, Timaya, offered him a place to stay when he was homeless. Skales revealed that he became homeless shortly after his contract with Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) ended, despite having worked on an album that was never released.

He stated that during his time at EME, he made some money but it was not a significant amount. When he had to leave the house he was staying in, he turned to sleeping in his car, which he had turned into a makeshift residence.

Skales explained that he did not have anyone to guide him at that point in his life, and he did not feel comfortable asking others for help. He would drive to his friends’ houses and spend the night in his car, parked outside their homes. Timaya eventually found out about his situation and was moved to tears.

He offered Skales his penthouse to live in and allowed him to use one of the three music studios available in the building. Skales lived there for some time before he was able to get back on his feet.

In addition to Timaya, Skales spoke about how Olamide also helped him when he was struggling. Olamide had heard Skales’ hit song, “Shake Body,” and wanted to help him shoot a music video for it.

When Skales explained that he was homeless and had no place to stay, Olamide offered to send him money to shoot the video. Skales was amazed that someone he barely knew would be so generous and was grateful for the opportunity.
