An attack by terrorists from the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) on a military outpost in Pulka, Borno State, Nigeria, led to the death of a soldier in the early hours of Monday. According to a security analyst in the Lake Chad region, the Nigerian troops of 21 armored Brigade Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) Bama area repelled the attack.
The terrorists approached the town from the Sambisa axis through Yarimari Gana early on Monday morning, but the troops quickly deployed to the scene and engaged them at the back of the Bama Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp, causing the terrorists to flee.

Meanwhile, between April 17th and 20th, 2023, the Nigerian troops 21-Armored Brigade, Bama, and 199 Special Forces Battalion had collaborated with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) to destroy 12 camps of the Boko Haram located in Bama Local Government Area, kill 35 terrorists, and capture one Alhaji Baana.
