CNN has terminated the contract of its longstanding news anchor and host, Don Lemon. Lemon, who had worked with the company for 17 years, claimed that he was fired abruptly without any prior indication.
He expressed his shock and disappointment via Twitter, thanking his colleagues for their support and acknowledging his love for the work he had done at CNN.
CNN, on the other hand, contradicted Lemon’s claims, stating that he was given an opportunity to meet with management but chose to release his statement on Twitter instead. Before his departure, Lemon co-anchored “CNN This Morning” with Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins and previously hosted the prime-time show “Don Lemon Tonight” for eight years.

Lemon came under fire in February for making sexist comments during an episode of “CNN This Morning.” He argued that presidential candidate Nikki Haley was not in her prime because she was 51 years old.
This comment was met with criticism, and Lemon was suspended by CNN management but was reinstated after apologizing. Recently, a Variety report labeled Lemon as a misogynist, which he vehemently denied, refuting the allegations of aggressive and “diva-like” behavior made against him in the report.
