The Permanent Secretary of Nigeria’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Evelyn Ngige, reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthen trade relations with China during the China-Nigeria Investment Economic and Trade Promotion Conference. The conference was organized by the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce and sponsored by the Changsha Municipal People’s Government.
Dr. Ngige, represented by the Director of Trade, Mr. Suleman Audu, stated that the Federal Government is committed to providing a sustainable platform for cooperation and mutual benefits between both countries.

Plans were already underway for activities that would deepen the relationship, such as the upcoming China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) scheduled to hold in Changsha, Hunan, China, between June 29 and July 2. Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC) would also launch the Export Trading House in China between April 19 and April 22, ahead of the expo.
According to Ngige, the relationship between Nigeria and China has been cordial and mutually beneficial, and both countries have enjoyed mutually beneficial bilateral trade and economic cooperation in various sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, education, health, tourism, industry, mining, and skills development, among others.
