Maynard Manyowa, a Zimbabwean journalist based in the UK, has publicly expressed regret over his past decision to engage in polygamy, admitting that he only truly loved one of his wives. In response to a social media post promoting polygamy as “the future”, Manyowa shared his perspective, stating that “you will never know peace” in a polygamous marriage.
While he enjoyed 10 years of being a polygamist, Manyowa said he only did it because he didn’t want one of his partners to feel left out, and he almost lost the one he truly loved as a result.

He advised against polygamy, stating that it only works until it doesn’t. Manyowa himself had three wives: Mutsa, Boipelo, and Tsholofelo, but the situation turned sour when Mutsa allegedly sold Maynard’s furniture and accused him of domestic violence, leading to a court case.
