Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has equalled Obafemi Martins’ record for the most goals scored by a Nigerian in a UEFA Champions League campaign. Osimhen’s equalizer in Napoli’s 1-1 draw against AC Milan in the second leg of their quarter-final clash on Tuesday brought his tally to four goals.
Martins netted four times for Inter Milan in the 2004/2005 campaign. Osimhen’s impressive performances have been crucial for Napoli in their quest for European glory this season. However, despite his record-equaling goal, Napoli were eliminated from the Champions League by AC Milan. They will now focus on the Italian Serie A, where they currently hold a 14-point advantage.
