Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Kogi State governorship election, has claimed that he used anointing oil to mobilize his delegates. Responding to allegations of financial inducement during the primary election, Melaye denied manipulating the exercise and attributed his success to God.

Melaye said that if he could not finance a primary election at his level, then there was a problem.
