Nigerian judges, security agencies fall short in upholding justice - Huseyn Zakaria

The chief missioner of the Uthman Bin Affan Mosque, Wuse II, Abuja, Huseyn Zakaria, emphasizes that Nigerian courts, police, and other security agencies need to do more to ensure justice and fairness in the country. He calls on President-elect Bola Tinubu to prioritize justice and fairness for all Nigerians when he assumes office.

Mr Zakaria made these remarks in an interview after the closing ceremony of the 2023 Annual Ramadan Tafsir of the mosque in Abuja. He also stresses the importance of elected officials fulfilling their campaign promises and respecting their covenant with Allah.

He urges incoming leaders to remember that the positions they hold are entrusted to them by Allah, and that they are leaders of all Nigerians, regardless of political affiliations.

Mr Zakaria highlights the need for a society that stands on justice and fairness, with courts, judges, and security operatives doing more to restore the rights of the weak. He emphasizes that standing against persecution and wrongdoing, wherever it emanates, will lead to a society assisted by Allah.
