The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate, Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), have filed a petition before the Lagos governorship election petitions tribunal, alleging that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu submitted a fake GCE result to INEC during his first-term governorship bid.
Adediran and PDP claimed that Sanwo-Olu failed to comply with the Electoral Act 2022 by not attaching a copy of the GCE O’Level result he claimed to obtain in 1981 along with his form EC9.

The petitioners further alleged that Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, and the Labour Party candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, were not qualified to contest in the March 18 governorship election due to non-compliance with electoral laws. The petitioners also accused the APC of non-compliance with the INEC Time Table and Schedule of Activities for the 2023 General Election.
