A 70-year-old man, Usman Ibrahim, was apprehended by the Adamawa State Police Command on April 4 for allegedly raping two minors, aged four and seven, in Ajiya Street, Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area of the state. The suspect was said to have lured the victims into his room and unlawfully had carnal knowledge of them.
The incident was reported to the police by the father of the victims after observing unusual pains while urinating. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect is a father of three who lives alone after separating from his wife 10 years ago.

The state commissioner of police has expressed concern over the incident and directed further investigation by the family support unit of the State CID for diligent prosecution.
The public, especially parents, are advised to be vigilant and report any suspicious individuals to the police to protect their children from such criminal acts.
