Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has been named the Premier League EA Sports Player of the Month for March, adding another feather to his already impressive hat. Saka has been a key player for the Gunners this season, contributing to their success with 22 goal contributions in 28 league appearances.
His form has been scintillating, and he started the month of March with a goal and assist in Arsenal’s 4-0 win against Everton. He ended the month with three goal involvements in their win over Crystal Palace, where he scored twice to become the first player in the league this season to reach double figures for goals and assists.
The club has celebrated Saka’s achievement, noting that it is his first divisional success of his career, and he becomes the 22nd different player to win the prize in Arsenal’s colors – the most of any other club in the league’s history.
Watch some highlight from the star player:
Saka beat out his teammate Leandro Trossard, Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Alexis Mac Allister, and Tyrone Mings of Aston Villa for the award. It’s the second time this season the prize has been handed to an Arsenal player, with captain Martin Odegaard receiving the November/December award.

Former Arsenal captain Tony Adams recently described Saka as the best player in world football apart from World Cup winner Lionel Messi, and his form has certainly backed up that praise. In fact, Saka’s scintillating form has even caught the attention of the England national team, where he has continued to impress. He netted a glorious goal from outside the box against Ukraine on Sunday, helping the Three Lions remain at the top of their Euro 2024 qualifying group with a 2-0 victory.
Saka’s success on the pitch is also set to be rewarded off it, as he is expected to become the highest-paid player at Arsenal and the ninth highest-paid player in the EPL when he signs his new contract with the club.
While his current contract is due to expire in the summer of 2024, the club is hopeful that the winger will extend his contract to 2028. With the new deal, Saka is expected to earn four times his current salary, which is already an impressive £70,000 per week. If he signs the new contract, Saka could earn a whopping £300,000-per-week, making him one of the highest-paid players in the league.
