According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the Director of Media and Publicity of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu travelled abroad for vacation rather than medical treatment, as was rumored. Onanuga denied allegations that Tinubu was flown to London for medical reasons and stated that his principal went to rest abroad.
Onanuga further noted that Tinubu would use the opportunity to observe the annual Muslim fast and perform Umrah (lesser Hajj) before returning to Nigeria.

Festus Keyamo, the Chief Spokesman for the APC PCC, also confirmed that Tinubu is hale and hearty and deserves some rest after the election. He stated that those spreading the rumors are still nursing their wounds after losing out in the election.
When asked about the country Tinubu visited for his vacation, Keyamo claimed he could not confirm it at the time of reporting.
