The Osun State Amotekun Corps, a regional security outfit set up to combat crime and criminal activities, have once again demonstrated their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the people of the state by apprehending a 35-year-old man accused of terrorizing residents in Ileogbo, Ayedire Local Government area.
The suspect, Tunde Abidoye, was arrested on Friday following a complaint made at Ayedire’s command, which led to the swift intervention of the Amotekun operatives.
Brig-Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi (Rtd), the Osun Amotekun Commander, who made this known to journalists in Osogbo at the weekend, stated that the suspect was apprehended after a complaint was lodged about his criminal activities.

According to Adewinmbi, the suspect was “unleashing terror assaults on the innocent people of Ileogbo and also destroying their properties.” It is heartening to note that the Amotekun operatives swung into action shortly after the complaint was made, leading to the arrest of the culprit.
During the arrest, the suspect was found in possession of a single barrel gun, which raises concerns about the safety of the people in the area. Furthermore, the Amotekun commander revealed that the suspect had been accused of causing violence during the last presidential election in the town by shooting at people who wanted to exercise their civil responsibility. Additionally, he was also said to be planning to disrupt the House of Assembly election on Saturday before he was apprehended.
