The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, as the winner in 13 local government areas in Ebonyi State.
The results were declared by the collation officers at the INEC state headquarters on Sunday night. Prof. Austin Ibegbu and Prof. O.T.U. Akanu served as collation officers for Abakaliki and Ishielu respectively.

Obi won the election by a landslide in the 13 local government areas, with the Labour Party receiving 36,894 votes in Abakaliki and 16,186 votes in Ishielu.
Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress received 3,365 votes in Abakaliki and 1,261 votes in Ishielu, while Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party polled 974 votes in Abakaliki and 574 votes in Ishielu. Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress received 27 votes in Abakaliki and 11 votes in Ishielu.
