On Sunday night, February 26, Manchester United secured their first piece of silverware since 2017, and the first under the management of Erik ten Hag, by winning 2-0 against Newcastle at Wembley.

Despite Newcastle’s early pressure, Manchester United scored first with Casemiro heading home from a Luke Shaw free-kick just after the half-hour mark.

The goal was reviewed by VAR but deemed valid, leading to an uproar of cheers from United fans at Wembley. Six minutes later, Marcus Rashford’s deflected effort found the net, making things even better for United. Despite a nervy second half, United held on to win Ten Haag’s first trophy.
