British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, condemns execution of alleged British spy

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak expressed his disgust at the actions of Iran government, condemning their recent execution of a British-dual national. In a statement released on social media, Sunak called the act “callous and cowardly” and criticized the regime for having “no respect for the human rights of their own people.”

The country’s Foreign Secretary, James Cleverly, also spoke out against the execution, stating that it deserved “condemnation in the strongest terms” and that it would not go unchallenged. The executed individual, a former top politician, had been sentenced to death on espionage charges.
