Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has called on his predecessor, Adegboyega Oyetola, to abandon any hopes of returning as Governor and to cease trying to reclaim his mandate. In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke stated that God does not support electoral fraud and deception, but rather justice, equity, and honesty. Adeleke was reacting to a statement from Oyetola that he was in the state to reclaim his mandate.
The Governor also pointed out that the Holy Books warn about the devil’s whispers and that one should not mistake the voice of the devil for the voice of God. Adeleke declared that God has spoken clearly in favor of a new governor for Osun, himself, and advised Oyetola to recite the phrase “auzubilahi mina shaytani rajeem” in order to hear the true voice of God.

While affirming that the people of Osun have moved on and are enjoying the new administration, Adeleke reminded Oyetola that the election is not the end of life and that Osun has entered a new chapter with a leadership that has returned power to the people. The statement concluded by stating that Osun will never return to the “years of locust.”
